Perform a variety of procedures and administers a variety of standard and chemotherapy medications such as experimental agents orally, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous.

Administer and regulate intravenous fluids and blood products. Inserts and/or cares for nasogastric and feeding tubes, central venous lines and urinary catheters.

Provide Conscious Sedation procedures and recovery Sets up and monitors a variety of medical equipment (infusion pumps, pleurovacs, wall suction, cardiac monitors, EKG, arterial and central catheters).

Provide guidance/leadership to other professional nurses and oversees work of paraprofessional personnel such as orientation and on-the-job training for such personnel.

Collaborates with physicians/health care team members to assure delivery of optimal level of care. Participate in development of standards of care and of quality improvement goals for outpatient population. Serve as a charge nurse.
Perform difficult/demanding patient advocacy tasks and effectively manages most difficult advocacy problems occurring in inpatient /outpatient settings.
Assess patient/family to include physical and psychosocial needs by preparing a detailed history.
Participate interdisciplinary rounds as member of the healthcare team. Provide specialized care for the most immunosuppressed patient population as primary provider.
Provides care in accordance with patient-specific nursing care plans, either developed by incumbent or another nurse.
Perform venipunctures for intravenous access and to collect blood specimens.
