Senior Product Manager - Industrial Automation to join our growing team.


What you'll do
To support the intersection of three main components of a successful

Product Strategy:

defining and owning the product direction; building and growing a product team; and establishing the product organization and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Vision and Strategy

The Senior Product Manager - Industrial Automation will help establish and support the product vision for the segment globally, in concert with deep market understanding, to inform the core and new product strategy.

The candidate will evaluate market needs against UL Solutions and competitors and understand their unique abilities to address them.

Product Management supports and contributes to the go-to-market strategy for Industrial Automation, describing how value will be delivered to the customer/user, how UL's products are differentiated from the competition, and what the business model should be in a given market.

This includes prioritization of product functions and features into product roadmaps and a product pipeline.

The Senior Product Manager monitors a set of product goals, outcomes and corresponding metrics to continually evaluate against and drive future activities and strategies.

Evangelizing and communicating the product vision, strategy and goals internally and externally is a critical responsibility of this role.

Team Building and Culture

The Senior Product Manager - Industrial Automation will actively model and promote a set of desired behaviors aligned with UL's critical behaviors for success.

They will take ownership of their own career and professional development by documenting and communicating career aspirations and any associated development needs to their manager.

They will also support career development needs of direct reports, by clearly defining expectations for their current role, actively soliciting their career aspirations and helping close any gaps.


Product Organization and Processes
A successful Senior Product Manager will support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development lifecycle management.

They will execute a robust set of processes to power all parts of the product development lifecycle from research/discovery to release/launch management and product support.

They will leverage a standard set of product management tools with the product team to drive efficient and effective product lifecycle management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills

  • Facilitation skills - ability to lead small to medium groups of internal and external stakeholders towards desired outcomes in order to meet business objectives.
  • Interview skills - ability to conduct discovery sessions with clients, prospects and stakeholders in order to diagnose business opportunities, elicit requirements, and conduct other types of research and analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation (PowerPoint) skills.
  • Product management tools - product/service design, analysis (Power BI), product/service development task management and project management, documentation and knowledge (SharePoint), collaboration (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Slack), roadmap and portfolio management (and related software tools).
  • Formal training and/or certification in Product Management is a plus.

Required Experience

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical or business experience in Industrial Automation, Robotics, Industry 4.0 or a related industry field.
  • 5+ years of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency in Product Management.
  • Working with remote teams is highly valued.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
