Sportsdigita is looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
This newly created role will be highly visible within the organization, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance. The role is crucial for the Company to scale, allowing the Senior Director of Finance to focus on higher level responsibilities within the organization. This is an opportunity to get into the organization at the ground level and scale your career as the company grows.
To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Key contributor role to Sportsdigita's accounting and finance organization
- Ownership of Companies GL, overseeing all regular accounting operations and reporting according to GAAP, including payables, receivables, accruals, and payroll
- Prepare standard monthly journals and BS account reconciliations as related to banks, prepaids, fixed assets, accrued liabilities and other areas
- Prepare month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, year-over-year fluctuation analyses for Revenue, COGS, OPEX and other PL areas
- Implement internal controls within GL accounting operations and propose improvements to support evolving accounting processes and systems' landscape
- Coordinate and assist with Annual Financial Statement Audit
- Implement Sales Tax system Avalara
- Collaborate across departments analyzing data to help the organization scale
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance
- 3-5 year progressive accounting experience
- Public Accounting Experience is a plus
- Proven ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required, including complex nested functions, lookups, pivot tables.
- Experience using: QuickBooks, SaaSOptics, Salesforce, Carta, Avalara, , Google Sheets and other key systems is a plus
- ASC 606 Knowledge is a plus but not a requirement
