SUMMARY
Amphenol-CIT is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemical Technician to join our electroplating team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of chemical baths used in the electroplating process.

This role requires a strong understanding of chemical handling, safety procedures, and technical expertise in electroplating processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare chemical solutions for electroplating baths according to specified formulas
  • Maintain and monitor the chemical composition of plating baths to ensure consistency and quality
  • Adjust chemical concentrations as necessary to maintain optimal plating conditions
  • Monitor the electroplating process, ensuring that parameters such as temperature, pH, and current density are within specified ranges
  • Perform routine analysis and tests on plating baths to detect any deviations or contamination
  • Record and analyze data to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Operate and maintain electroplating equipment, including tanks, pumps, and filters
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to prevent downtime
  • Ensure proper calibration of all measurement and testing devices
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures for handling chemicals and operating equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and contamination
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations
  • Maintain clean laboratory by discarding waste and cleaning and sanitizing countertops, walls, floors, shelves, equipment, sinks, water baths etc. using cleaning solvents
  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, test results, and maintenance activities
  • Prepare reports on process performance and suggest improvements
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any issues related to product quality
*Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a chemical technician role, preferably within an electroplating or metal finishing environment

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

JOB SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of chemical handling and safety procedures.
  • Proficient in using analytical instruments and conducting chemical tests.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally.

Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

SALARY INFORMATION:
