The School Programs and Education Coordinator will manage day-to-day operations of the USC Pacific Asia Museum's School Tours and Distance Learning Programs as well as assist with other k-12 and education initiatives and events, including the Lunar New year Festival, Free 2nd Sunday program, USC PAM Teen Ambassadors Program, and Teacher . This role is responsible for securing and scheduling schools for tours, scheduling transportation as part of the Free Bus Scholarship program, maintaining program supplies, communicating with teachers and teaching artists, collaborating with docents, managing volunteers, and other related tasks. The coordinator will be instrumental in supporting new school initiatives at the USC Fisher Museum of Art. This role reports to the Education and Engagement Manager.

Responsibilities

Schedule school and special request toursMaintain and update tour applicationsSecure bus transportation for select schoolsWork with PUSD coordinators to schedule schools for My Masterpieces programCommunicate with teachersSupport docents in upholding tour content and qualityAssist Manager with docent trainingManage volunteer database and be point person for volunteer coreMaintain all calendars with tour informationSchedule teaching artists for tour workshopsCommunicate with docents regarding tour scheduling and cancellationProcess vendor invoicesOrder and maintain program suppliesAttend school outreach eventsFoster relationships with schools, teachers, and the museumMaintain surveys and collect program dataAssist with assembling materials for programsAssist with USC PAM Teen Ambassadors Program, Lunar New year Festival, Free 2nd Sunday programAssist other events as neededProvide feedback and content support for ManagerPossible curriculum supportQualificationsBachelor's degree in education, art history, museum studies, fine arts or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in museum/ arts education or non-profit coordinationExcellent, proven communication skills along with strong writing, verbal, and public speaking skills needed for interacting with educators, museum staff, and other constituents Ability to work productively with diverse constituencies, including schools, community partners, and the publicProven skill at assisting large and small-scale events and projectsAptitude for detail and ability to work both independently as well as in a team settingProficiency in Microsoft Office is required. In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words, and actions, a strong commitment to USC's Unifying Values of integrity, excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, well-being, open communication, and accountability. Weekly Schedule: Full-time, in-person Tuesday-Friday, remote Monday optional, weekends as neededThe hourly rate range for this position is $ $25.27.
