Salem Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist to join our exemplary team of medical professionals providing superior care to our country s veterans

This position is located in the Medical Care Service Line at the Salem VA Medical Center and reports directly to the Chief of Medicine. The physician provides consultation services and follow up of medical subspecialty patients, in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The incumbent should have strong interpersonal skills to establish professional working relationships with other clinicians and staff throughout the facility and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The staff Hematologist/Oncologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

Provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and education of patients with Oncologic conditions in the outpatient and inpatient settingComplete documentation and coding of visits accurately to ensure time care for patientsEvaluate, triage, and prioritize Oncology consult requests to ensure timely care for patientsConduct telemedicine visits for patients in outlying clinicsPerform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations and Ongoing Professional Practice EvaluationsCoordinate care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility such as MOHS surgeryWork Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
