This position is located on the Forest Service Timber Lake Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Estacada, OR.

The incumbent serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager and is responsible for planning ,directing, coordinating, and evaluating a 24-hour safety and occupational health program.

Duties
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, evaluates, and financially advises on a comprehensive safety and occupational health program.
  • Develops and prepares annual local safety and occupational health plans through adaptation of DOL and Forest Service instructions and policies; prepares program of work and associated budget.
  • Interprets and applies rules and regulations established by the Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, Department of Labor, National Fire Protection Association, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates safety and occupational health activities with representatives of the medical, personnel, security, and other organizational components.
  • Conducts worksite safety inspections on new construction and building alterations to determine the degree of compliance with standards and regulatory criteria; recommends procedures to control or eliminate hazardous operations or conditions.
  • Conducts or participates in continuous inspections and surveys.
  • Monitors the project(s) during the course of the construction to ensure compliance with applicable safety related standards.
