We are seeking a Software Development Senior Manager to manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for managing IoT devices and their communication to the cloud. As a senior manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture, and development to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, identity and access management (IAM) and authorization framework according to provided design specifications. You will be responsible for managing a team that builds enhancements within an existing software architecture and to help envision future improvements to the architecture. As a senior manager you will assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve tactical and strategic objectives across the team. This position will regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure project objectives are met. Some of the key requirements are demonstrated leadership, people management skills, strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development.

Job Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field is required. Graduate degree (Master's) preferred. Minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
  • 5+ years of people management experience in building and leading successful engineering teams is required.
  • Engineering leadership and technical expertise in Linux based platform development.
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience leading teams through cloud native architecture, network architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), as well as secure by design modern security principles.
  • Experience in Linux networking and bring new products to market.
  • Experience with Linux Routing protocols
  • Experience with WIFI and Mesh standards and open-source integrations
  • Experience with Linux firewall and NAT capabilities
  • Experience with web security principles and mitigation for common vulnerabilities while building and deploying best in class Cloud products (SaaS Public Cloud deployments).
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and Qtest Manager.
  • Demonstrated strength with operating systems, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to build and grow a team software engineers who are responsible for Linux Platform development. You should have technical depth, architectural know how, and able to dive deep into any part of the application stack. You should be strong people and process manager and value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be obsessed with making your customers happy. You are expected to have:

  • Experience with building embedded linux platforms and taking them to market.
  • Experience with Linux Routing, Firewall and NAT and Container networking.
  • Experience with Cloud native application development
  • Proficient in evaluating scale / reuse and ongoing maintenance costs, quality and risk of usage.
  • Build, develop, encourage and lead a team of highly skilled, highly motivated developers by determining best tools, design patterns and practices across different functional roles globally.
  • Proven leadership ability to determine recommendations with research-based investigation as well as communicate additional options and pros and cons of each.
  • Set clear team objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill a high-performing culture with a focus on accountability.
  • Proven to be a development leader who is results driven, agile, positive, and collaborative even when faced with ambiguity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless retrospectives to ensure continual strengthening of the team.

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
