Job Description:
Day-to-Day Duties:Piping Drafting and Design: Create detailed and accurate piping drawings and designs for various refinery projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.P&ID Development: Develop and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) reflecting process and instrumentation details.Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective piping solutions.Review and Revision: Conduct regular reviews of piping designs to identify potential improvements or modifications and implement revisions as needed.Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to piping designs, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes to verify that piping designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Software Utilization: Utilize relevant design software and tools to enhance the efficiency and precision of drafting tasks.Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to integrate piping designs seamlessly into overall refinery plans.Skillset:Drafting Proficiency: Strong proficiency in piping drafting techniques and tools to create precise and comprehensive drawings.P&ID Expertise: Experience in developing and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, understanding process flow and instrumentation details.CAD Software: Proficient in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating and modifying piping designs.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with refinery operations, piping systems, and relevant industry codes and standards.Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks accordingly.Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and optimize piping designs.Qualifications:Education: Degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.Experience: Proven experience as a Piping Draftsman in an industrial setting, with a focus on refinery projects preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in Drafting and DesignSoftware Proficiency: Proficient in using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for piping design.Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex piping design challenges.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
