Outside Plant Construction Technician II in Plymouth, WI
- Install PON/fiber network communications facilities
- Operate construction equipment like trenchers and backhoes
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair aerial and underground fiber facilities in accordance with TDS standards

Training:
- Opportunity to obtain a Class A CDL through in-house program
- Safety training on Pole Climbing and Bucket Trucks
- On-the-job training with various construction equipment and fiber optic techniques

$1,000 sign-on bonus eligibility (Payout terms apply)

- Pay range reflects base compensation potential
- Additional forms of compensation available for certain positions

- Leading provider of fiber internet service
- Deploying new fiber optic networks for high-speed internet

  • Performs general construction labor in various weather conditions with safety fundamentals
    • Operates construction equipment for outside plant fiber facilities
    • Places new aerial and buried fiber per specifications
    • Reviews and updates GIS, maps, and as-builds
    • Proficient in outside plant test equipment operation
    • Installs, troubleshoots, splices, and maintains fiber optic facilities
    • Identifies and repairs defective fiber using test equipment
    • Locates cable and fiber as needed
    • Completes cable fault acceptance tests
    • Ensures site restoration post-project
  • Trains and mentors personnel as directed
  • Serves, cleans, maintains, and repairs equipment
  • Completes paperwork timely and assists field services technicians

Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of construction equipment operation experience
- Must follow TDS attendance guidelines and hold a valid driver's license

Other Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- Physical requirements including climbing and lifting
- Experience in fiber optic cable or utilities construction
- Understanding of telecommunication products and services
- Organizational skills and willingness to work varied shifts
- Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions
