Summary

The ideal candidate for this position would have performed key training and exercise development and delivery activities in the National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Response System (the System) and the safe delivery of the System's capability.



Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will perform complex planning, implementation, development, and execution of activities associated with the System's training and exercise program. Typical assignments include:

  • Developing, evaluating, analyzing, validating, and managing plans, policies, procedures, reports, and other products that drive decision making related to the System's training and exercise programs
  • Supporting FEMA's response mission through analysis, advance planning, and coordination of the System's training and exercise programs to minimize risks identified in anticipation of all-hazard incidents that may require Federal level emergency management support
  • Identifying training and exercise related shortfalls, problems, and the need for intervention at the national level to ensure the accomplishment of System goals and objectives to ensure readiness to support response operations
  • Serving as the Contracting Officer's Representative responsible for maintaining and managing the System's national training contract.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
