We provide solutions that create economic, social and environmental value. We are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to work in our Mishawaka, IN office.

The CAD Drafter / Permit Technician is primarily responsible for preparing CAD print-sets for the field/construction teams as well as for the municipality when submitting permit applications. This position may also prepare permit application packages that meet the requirements of local governments and jurisdictions, governing agencies, or any other relevant entities. Follow up with the permitting entity and tracking the progress of a permit submittal may be required as well.

CAD Drafter / Permit Technician Duties:

  • Interprets general designs, data and notes and applies established guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Create permit application packages to meet the specific requirements of local permitting authorities as well as project-specific requirements.
  • Work with permit agencies/joint pole/ structure owner(s) and other 3rd parties to fully identify requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with municipalities and manage all aspects of complying with requirements of approvals for installation, operation and maintenance of facilities and networks.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure sites meet requirements.
  • Obtain all necessary permitting/zoning approval from national and local agencies.
  • Inform other internal functional groups about requirements and regulations of government entities and municipalities to assist with compliance with general conditions of approvals at permit and construction stages of the project, and to meet project timelines.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans and profile drawings.
  • Experience utilizing CAD software to produce final deliverables.
  • Knowledge of LISP routines a plus.
  • Computer skills such as MS Office, MS Outlook, Google docs and Google Earth applications.
  • Experience in ArcGIS online valued, but not required.
  • Proven record in submitting and obtaining construction permits.
  • Ability to read, understand and prepare technical documents.
