Spanish/ESL Teacher

Cushing Academy seeks to hire an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher, who can also teach English as a Second Language at the intermediate and advanced levels, to begin August 19, 2024.

Responsibilities include teaching a combination of five sections of high school Spanish and ESL, assisting in athletics (or leading an afternoon activity) for two seasons, and serving as an advisor to a small group of students.

Residential life duties are required, and housing is provided.

Successful candidates will have an exceptional ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with a diverse range of adolescents.

Candidates should demonstrate an ongoing commitment to creating and supporting an inclusive educational environment, and a willingness to examine their own educational practices through an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in a related field (master's preferred) and at least 3-5 years of experience teaching at the high school level.

Familiarity with independent schools is necessary, and boarding school experience is particularly helpful. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to David A. Stone, Dean of Faculty.
