Schedule: Days/Nights Rotating, WE and Holiday coverage

Status: Exempt, 1F

Position Summary:

The Division of Gynecology and Obstetrics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a Advance Practice Provider (APP) collaborate within a multidisciplinary health team, delivering comprehensive obstetric care to inpatient populations.

In this role, the provider will manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including ordering and interpreting tests, diagnosing, treating, and counseling patients. Referral of complex cases to other physicians will be necessary. Responsibilities encompass establishing medical diagnoses, performing diagnostic studies, therapeutic procedures, and providing follow-up care. Physical examinations, including obstetric and pelvic exams, will be conducted, along with other relevant procedures. The provider will interpret fetal heart tracings and maintain accurate documentation.

Accountability for time management, professional relationships, and interpersonal interactions is integral. Participation in in-service and continuing education programs, committee involvement, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures are expected.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification OR Physician Assistant (PA) certification
  • Maryland or Compact RN and CRNP, CNM or PA licensure
  • Current BLS CPR certification
  • Requires 1 year of APP OBGYN experience, minimum of 3 years of acute care OBGYN RN experience

Completion of the JHH credentialing process is mandatory before the start date. Additionally, if ordering or referring items or services for Medicare beneficiaries, enrollment in the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership Systems (PECOS) is required.
