Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift


Position currently works 7:00 am – 5:30 pm shift four days per week in a pharmacy with the operating hours of 7:30 am – 9:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Saturday/Sunday.

Position may work a weekly rotating shift with every 5th or 10th weekend required which will affect shifts during week.

5 day per week work schedule is also available. Holiday coverage rotations among all ambulatory pharmacy staff required for locations open on observed holidays.

Operating hours, shifts, location, and days of the week are subject to change based on the needs of the department.

Job Summary


The Pharmacy Senior Technician assists pharmacists in medicine preparation, distribution, and delivery of comprehensive pharmaceutical care for the University of Kentucky retail pharmacy sites operating under University of KY Chandler Retail Pharmacy Services.

Fills prescriptions in a busy retail based setting. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward.


The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate's experience.

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
