Mayer, Minnesota, United States The Orme School Full time
The Orme School is seeking an experienced full-time English faculty member for the 2024/2025 school year to start late-August.

We are specifically looking for a gifted teacher who is able to use their own interests and passions to excite a range of learners about this most important subject.

As a unique international community in rural Arizona, we aspire to teach our students empathy, compassion, acceptance for all types of differences, respect for themselves and others, and to see themselves as an integral part of the world around them.

It is, therefore, essential that you value and model these ideals yourself.

They need to learn fundamentals such as the literary essay and creative writing, but you will have the opportunity to be as creative as you wish in how this is accomplished.

Reading is at the heart of an Orme English education and must be encouraged on a daily basis in each of your classes.

It is also essential that you are familiar with a variety of teaching methods for neurodiverse learners, ESL learners, and seek to build confidence in each of your students above and beyond any other directives.

A secondary specialization/interest in any subject would be an asset.

Experience teaching all levels of high school English and AP experience (or willingness to learn) is preferred, boarding school experience is preferred, Administrator on Duty (AOD) and elementary/middle school teaching experience is a plus, as well as being comfortable with living in a remote ranch environment.

Duties could also include advisor, coaching, or afternoon activities on a rotational basis, as well as one night weekly and one weekend monthly of residential life duties.

On-campus housing provided.
