Job Description

The Maryland Community Solar - Development Manager - Remote will focus on leading development through forging relationships with landowners, community leaders, utilities and stakeholder organizations.

Responsibilities:

Identify and develop greenfield Community/Distributed Generation (DG) project opportunities.Establish and maintain relationships with landowners, off-takers, and community members.Advance the development of assigned projects to construction ready status.Manage internal and external resources to achieve site control, permitting, interconnection, and financing, with accountability for budget and schedule.Collaborate with Technical and Finance leads to design solar solutions that maximize returns given commercial strategy/use cases, performance requirements, and site constraints.Create and maintain project maps, databases and tracking tools for assigned projects.Perform regional market and competitive analysis as requested.Support commercial and power marketing efforts for assigned projects.Support due diligence on project acquisition opportunities as requested.

The Successful Applicant

The right candidate will possess:

At least 2 years experience developing Community/DG Solar projects through development to NTP, ideally through to COD.Experience developing projects in MD.Experience with Interconnection, Permitting, Offtake strategy, Community Solar Incentive Program, etc Ability to work in a project-driven environment with tight deadlines and concurrent deliverablesAbility to effectively manage contractors and consultants to achieve deadlines on budget.Strong network and understanding of how to develop in their state.
