  • Attends training sessions, passes content assessment, and delivers designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to eligible students through utilization of Company materials and educational strategies.
  • Internalizes and delivers individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans to elementary aged students on school campus.
  • Implement individualized strategies for students in the intervention program
  • Analyzes and interpret reading and math data to support student needs
  • Ensures supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from the classroom or to mobile/trailer classroom.
  • Establishes and maintains student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Attends and documents conferences/meetings/trainings with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Uses scripted curriculum to deliver individualized skill-appropriate lessons.
  • Maintains inventory of educational materials and supplies.

The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications:
  • Currently resides on the island of Oahu
  • Elementary teaching and /or tutoring experience required
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in education preferred.
  • Teacher's license highly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with children who are attending elementary school.
  • Experience using and following scripted curriculum and can demonstrate ability to differentiate and scaffold instruction for students
  • Can collect and utilize student data to inform instruction.
  • Experience teaching Math and Reading to students in a grades K-5 setting / school campus.
  • Classroom/ Small setting experience.
Other essential requirements
  • Must understand that all children can learn.
  • Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers
  • Must report to work on-time and ready to instruct students
  • Must be able to meet the work schedule listed below - any anticipated staff absences should be shared during hiring, sick/emergency call outs should be no more than 1 staff absence per 20 instructional days
  • Must be flexible with changes that improve student outcomes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Interventionists with the 2:15pm to 4:30pm schedule will teach two, 45-minute sessions to small groups of students with transition time before and after each session. Interventionists with the 2:15pm-3:30pm schedule will teach one, 45-minute session to a small group of students with transition time before and after each session.
  • Interventionists at this school site may be granted a maximum of 30 minutes to prepare for each class session held and a maximum of 20 minutes for administrative duties (daily checking of email, recording attendance and lesson data and parent/guardian communications) for each class session held. These times must be documented and approved by the interventionist's supervisor in order to be paid for the time.
  • To prepare interventionists to use the Catapult Learning curriculum and tools, there is a maximum of 10 hours of training time. Returning employees may not need as much training time. The first training date is September 7 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and additional training from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. for select teachers.
  • Professional development and coaching is provided ongoing throughout the school year. A maximum of four hours during the school year to collaborate on lessons may be provided. A maximum of two hours during the school year to analyze and take action on student data may be provided. A maximum of three hours to review the Renaissance reports and findings may be provided. (The professional development and coaching hours stay the same regardless of instructing one or two groups of students.)
Salary Range/ Schedule
  • Hourly Rate: $ 27- $40 for an 8-month position. Rate is commensurate with experience and education.
  • Schedule:
    • Employees must be on campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:15pm to 4:30pm, excluding school-observed holidays, early dismissal days, and breaks/intersessions OR Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:15pm to 3:30pm, excluding school-observed holidays, early dismissal days, and breaks/intersessions.
