YOUR IMPACT
As a Senior Director, Mergers & Acquisitions at OpenText, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business by leading the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers and acquisitions. You will be instrumental in driving strategic growth, managing a pipeline of potential targets, and working closely with business unit leaders to present executable transactions to our Executive Leadership Team. Your expertise will ensure that every M&A decision is informed, strategic, and aligned with our long-term goals.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Source and manage an active pipeline of M&A targets across OpenText's $200B+ Total Addressable Market (TAM).
• Lead due diligence processes, engaging with internal and external experts to identify opportunities and risks.
• Streamline transaction negotiations for deals of varying sizes and structures.
• Collaborate with Legal, Treasury, Tax, and other stakeholders to support transaction structuring.
• Assess operational and financial impacts of potential acquisitions and construct analytical frameworks for decision-making.
• Communicate acquisition risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
• Manage OpenText's M&A governance process and support integration planning and execution.
• Represent OpenText at industry events, maintaining relationships with investment bankers, private equity, and venture capital firms to keep OpenText top-of-mind in the marketplace.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant M&A experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital, preferably in software, technology, or information services.
• Proven experience leading M&A deal processes from sourcing to completion, with a strong ability to negotiate and execute transactions.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and business case development.
• Expertise in PowerPoint and a proven ability to develop compelling presentations and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
• Strong work ethic, business acumen, and a bias for action, with the ability to act decisively to achieve results.
• Effective at building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• Ability to travel and work long hours as needed.
SALARY STATEMENT
This job is expected to pay a minimum of $200,000 USD in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
