Canisius University, a Jesuit University in Buffalo, New York, invites applications for the position of graduate assistants within the department (9 positions).

Canisius sponsors 20 NCAA Division I athletic teams, which compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Atlantic Hockey Association. These are 10-month positions (starting August 2024) that can be renewed for a second year.

The 2nd year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GA's must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment.

These positions are designed to provide many great opportunities for post-Bachelor individuals. Reporting to senior administrators in the athletics organization, GA's will have the opportunity to gain exposure and work closely with various departments.

The overall goal of these assistantships are to gain knowledge and experience through opportunities to obtain a full-time position upon graduation within the field.

Athletic Training Graduate Assistant (2)

Athletic Facilities, Equipment & Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant (2)

External Affairs & Marketing Graduate Assistant (1)

Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant (1)

Digital & Video Media Content Graduate Assistant (1)

W. Rowing Assistant Coach Graduate Assistant (1)

Requirements:

Qualifications:Acceptance into a Graduate Program at Canisius University. Undergraduate experience with athletics and/or intramural sports programs. Prior experience with a varsity program in the designated sport. Must possess a valid US driver's license within two months of hire date.
