This task supports the NASA Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Group. The HCI Group consists of the Human Systems Integration Architecture (HSIA) team, the Scheduling and Planning Interface for Exploration (SPIFe) team, and the Cross-Program Integrated Data Systems (CPIDS) team. The HCI Group contributes to the development of measurably better NASA software through careful application of HCI methods. This position entails an iterative process that consists of user research, interaction design, and usability evaluation. The team is focused on the users and their goals in order to build the right tool and is therefore focused on functionality as well as interface. The HCI Group supports a number of programs at NASA, including Moon to Mars (M2M), International Space Station (ISS), and various Ames Research Center (ARC) initiatives. The HCI Group is based at Ames out of the Human Systems Integration (HSI) division, but it includes team members across NASA centers and remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write, run, and maintain test cases for use in integration tests, functional tests, regression tests, smoke tests, and acceptance tests
  • Find, file, track, clarify, and verify bugs as they are fixed
  • Review system design specifications and identify inconsistencies across platforms
  • Set clear guidance and schedules for successful test implementation
  • Provide transparency into test status and/or testing challenges
  • Troubleshoot application issues reported by users and found via exploratory testing
  • Participate in development and maintenance of custom, web-based data integration platform
  • Test integrations with external systems hosted outside of the team's developed systems
  • Perform validation of data migrations/imports for new configurations that will replace legacy systems.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and process improvement efforts

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills within geographically diverse software development & user teams
  • Expertise with software QA process including test generation and management tools including such as Jira, Pracabugs
  • Experience with Katalon Studio or similar for scripting
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Management including prioritization of competing requests
  • Analyze system requirements and design specifications
  • Contribute to team's process improvement
