Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and innovative Biology teacher to join a strong science department of 12 professionals. The successful candidate is intrinsically motivated to see the familiar in new ways and has a passion for work in the classroom and the laboratory.
Collaboration within a dynamic Science department, creation of powerful learning experiences for a globally diverse student body, commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents through interpersonal relationships, utilization of extensive campus resources, setting a positive tone, and treating students as individuals within the context of a broader community, are all critical components of this position.
This full-time member of the Upper School faculty teaches four sections of Biology and contributes to a large extracurricular program such as Athletics, Debate, or Robotics to name a few options. Experience teaching AP Biology is welcome but not required. Additionally, it is understood that the successful candidate has a demonstrated commitment to work in an extraordinarily diverse and inclusive community, and the potential to participate in an enriching residential program.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching and working with adolescents and excellent communication skills are expected of all teachers.
