A New Graduate Registered Nurse is an individual who has recently completed or is about to graduate from an RN education program and has less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

The residency program, led by a team of experienced nurse educators, encompasses clinical orientation, specialty-specific training, and a core curriculum to build a strong foundation for clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and future growth.
The RN Clinical Nurse I delivers expert nursing care by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating in accordance with facility policies and protocols under supervision. Ensures a safe work environment and maintains competence relevant to the patient population.
Essential Functions
- Collects and analyzes pertinent health data.
- Sets achievable outcomes tailored to individual healthcare needs.
- Devises a personalized plan to reach desired outcomes.
- Coordinates care delivery to enhance health and safety.
- Delegates care tasks following legal and ethical guidelines.
- Tracks progress and adjusts plans as needed.
- Demonstrates cultural competence and effective communication.
- Collaborates with patients and stakeholders.
- Assumes leadership roles and integrates research findings into practice.
- Promotes quality nursing practice and ethical conduct.
- Uses resources efficiently for evidence-based, safe, and effective care.
- Practices ethically and supports shared governance.
Physical Requirements
Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, bending, and more. Must carry up to 35 pounds and possess good communication skills. Requires intact sensory abilities, dexterity, critical thinking, and quick responsiveness to changes. Physical Abilities Testing is mandatory.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited Nursing School with a preference for a BSN. Current Basic Life Support certification is essential. Must hold a valid RN license in the working state or a temporary license, meeting applicable requirements. Additional requirements apply for National License Compact states.
