Job Overview
Cognizant is looking to add a Mail Room Clerk to join our team and partner with a company in the Insurance and Financial industry. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate and meticulously organized data records. Your skills are needed, are you interested? If so, please apply in order to be considered. Schedule: The operating hours are 6:00AM to 6:00PM (8 hr shift/40 hr per week) Monday-Friday, however, we have a clean desk policy. Therefore, overtime may be required on heavy volume days with short notice.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months of practical experience in a professional office environment, or in roles involving package handling, mail room operations, or comparable responsibilities
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to remain standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs to transport documents
- Proficiency in data entry software, spreadsheets, and database management
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for analyzing receptacles containing a certain number of envelopes or documents. Then, sorting documents into predetermined categories in a prescribed manner removing staples and taping documents to ensure they can be fed into a scanner properly
• Responsible for using a scan gun to scan barcodes and answer prompts in order to print sheets that are linked to a set of documents before going into scanning
• Responsible for finding documents, after they have been scanned, that require rescanning and those that need to be sent to other facilities or back to the sender
• Other duties may be assigned by the Team Leader
