We are currently seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our team at the world headquarters in Olathe, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of assigned commodities and products, striving to achieve excellence in supplier Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier development including partnering agreements and QCDS
  • Coordinate the planning, ordering, and delivery of components, products, and services to ensure timely delivery throughout the organization
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for assigned commodities and products to maximize turns and minimize obsolescence risks
  • Negotiate and manage procurement contracts to support the master Production Schedule (MPS)
  • Conduct cost price analysis for supplier agreements and projects
  • Analyze inventory costing records such as Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and rework costs
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Marketing teams to identify new sources of supply for product development
  • Ensure compliance with departmental processes, procedures, and training requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement to meet departmental goals and metrics
Job Requirements:

Due to the substantial investment in training for this role, associates must complete a minimum of one year before being eligible for a job transfer.

  • Associates degree in Operations or equivalent with three years of relevant experience, or a Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Certification in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or repair purchasing
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing requirements and supplier capabilities
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software for word processing and spreadsheets
