The position of Loader Operator is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. The Loader Operator reports to the Operations Manager. A person in this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the loader at the Agronomy Plant.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.
  1. Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  2. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  3. Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  4. Operate Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material;
  5. Responsible for maintaining proper awareness on public and private roads.
  6. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the Loader.
  7. Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety policies and objectives.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public.
  3. Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy.
  4. Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service.
  5. Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
  6. Must have a manager focus in all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/ problem solving skills.
  7. Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
