Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is seeking a Part-Time Librarian. Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is a pluralistic Jewish day school for students in grades 6-12. Located in Bryn Mawr, PA (metropolitan Philadelphia), Barrack is the premier Jewish day school in the Delaware Valley, attracting students from Philadelphia and its suburbs, Allentown, southern New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware. The librarian has the primary responsibility for the functions of the school library and media services. Responsibilities of the librarian include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the school's library collection and resources
  • Assisting students and staff in locating, evaluating, and using library media materials and technologies
  • Managing library media resources
  • Handling library budget, evaluating and selecting materials, ordering and processing materials
  • Helping maintain or upgrade the library's technology
  • Creating an environment that is conducive to collaboration with teaching staff, active and participatory learning, and resource-based instructional practices
  • Embracing the use of instructional technology to engage students and improve learning while providing access to digital information resources for the school learning community
  • Remaining current in professional practices and developments, information technologies, and educational research as it pertains to library/media technology programs.
