Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Enlisted Promotion Unit, Promotion Section, Manpower Management Performance Branch, Manpower Management Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department, of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Responsibilities You will advise and facilitate the junior enlisted remedial promotion process.

You will research, analyze, evaluate, and initiate administrative actions associated with all regular, meritorious, remedial and posthumous reserve and active duty junior enlisted Marine Promotions.

You will utilize judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness in researching and interpreting guidelines for adaption to specific civil and military misconduct cases.

You will review diary feedback reports to ensure quality control over all previously entered unit diaries and promptly resolve reported discrepancies.

Prepare monthly messages in message text format (MTF), announcing the monthly promotions to corporal and sergeant.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Conducting intake and processing of promotion actions (e.g., initiating and processing regular, meritorious, remedial, and posthumous reserve and active duty junior enlisted Marine promotions); AND providing advice on the promotion process to ensure procedural integrity and consistency.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B.
