Lead Medical Biller

Our client is seeking an experienced individual to join their team as the Lead Medical Biller. In this role, you will be posting medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts and process insurance claims.
The ideal candidate will have their associate degree in accounting and 1 year of billing collection experience.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (must be willing to work flexible hours)

Kaneohe, Oahu
Pay
$23 to $26 an hour
Responsibilities
- Post medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts.
- Prepare all monthly billings for services to Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers.
- Ensure all patient admission data is received and assist with pre-admission financial/insurance verifications.
- Process insurance claim denials, file appeals, and contact insurance companies.
- Answer patient account balance questions.
- Lead a team of Medical Billers including coaching performance, goal setting, and development planning.
- Monitor changes in reimbursement policies, including payor fee schedule reconciliation.
- Responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivables.
- Prepare various reports for business management.
- Perform other related duties.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in accounting or a combination of education and experience in the health care field.
- Minimum 1 year experience with billing collection required.
- Certificate of Medical Billing License required.
- Previous experience in Medicare, Medicaid, private billing, and EMR billing submissions preferred.
- Knowledge of financial management in the long-term care setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to pass physical examination and TB clearance.
