Who are we hiring?
The Head Groundskeeper – CPKC Stadium is responsible for all aspects of oversight and maintenance necessary to provide world class soccer fields and landscaping (exterior landscaping, stadium pitch, practice playing pitch and rental pitches) and the day-to-day operations for the Grounds Crew department. The Head Groundskeeper – CPKC Stadium is directly responsible for equipment management, chemical storage, use, safety, and compliance, irrigation system oversight, full-time and part-time staff and soccer field(s) management.

What will you do?

• Responsible for all aspects of field maintenance for KC Current Training Facility and CPKC Stadium.
• Establish and maintain a close working relationship with soccer team coaches, operations team, and General Manager.
• Perform daily responsibilities of the stadium and practice fields including but not limited to: mowing, irrigation, fertilizing, pesticide applications, field painting, cultural turfgrass practices, subair heating, LED grow lights, equipment operation and maintenance, and snow removal. This includes seasonal maintenance on all fields.
• Manage the set-up of the playing field(s) for all NWSL games as well as other special events at CPKC Stadium and KC Current practice fields.
• Manages 3rd party vendor relationships.
• Supervises and schedules grounds crew employees; including, but not limited to proper use of equipment, etc.
• Collaborate with supervisor and stadium operations team members on all field issues and budget.
• Have a thorough understanding of NWSL operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

• Must have a proven track record with building and maintaining a successful culture.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Bachelor's degree in Turf Management or related field; or substantial industry experience (preferred).
• Required experience with both turf and grass playing surfaces.
• Knowledge of turf equipment, tools, and pesticides as it relates to all compliance.
• 5+ years of field management with a professional televised team
• Highly organized with excellent project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to lead, give clear and concise direction, and provide feedback to staff.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
• Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time sensitive matters with senior executives.

• Perform manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally under unfavorable weather conditions
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking long distance.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds at a time
