Summary

This position is located in a USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) field office.

The incumbent works with landowners to apply and maintain conservation practices and reviews financial assistance requests under the provisions of federal, state, or local agriculture programs. Use data (such as soil limitations, erosion, and sedimentation) from sites to evaluate and develop conservation plans.



Duties
  • Provide assistance to the Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) assigned to the field office within the assigned Natural Resources area.
  • Work with landowners to apply and maintain a number of conservation practices.
  • Review financial assistance requests under the provision of federal, state, and possible local agriculture programs.
  • Record field notes and prepare tentative designs based on standard designs for review and approval by others.
  • Assist with public information activities providing NRCS guidance and policy for the application of practices.
