Main Purpose of Job

This is a part-time contractual position established to provide quality occupational therapy services to include screening, reassessment, treatment planning and implementation as requested by the interdisciplinary team and medical director. The services provided will focus on maintaining the health and safety of the residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing at MDH - Holly Center.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational Therapists.\r
Experience: Three years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.\r
Notes:�\r
1. Candidates may substitute a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy for two years of the required experience. \r
2.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service�experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or�Therapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work �on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.�\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD \r
2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. \r
3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached. \r

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r
