Analyst, Accounting & Operations


Job Overview:          

Phoenix is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Operations Specialist to join our finance & operations team. The successful candidate will assist in managing daily accounting and operational activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting, fund operations, and trade operations.


Key Responsibilities:           

Accounting

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Perform cash and par reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Invoice processing and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance reports.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in managing liquidity, lines of credit and other ad hoc reporting.


Operations

  • Coordinate with custodians, administrators, and other third-party service providers.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide support for annual audit.
  • Assist in the booking, executing and settling of trades.
  • Monitor trading activities and ensure accurate and timely trade confirmations.
  • Reconcile trading accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update trading records and databases.
  • Coordinate with brokers, counterparties, and internal teams to ensure smooth trade operations.
  • Support preparing various investor requests and reports (e.g., Request for Proposals).
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, investor relations, and investment teams.
  • Support other team members with ad hoc tasks as necessary.


Qualifications:              

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting, operations, or trading operations, within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and trading practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with private credit funds or alternative investments manager is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and trading software and systems is preferred.
  • Experience with trade operations in liquid products and other similar investments a plus.


Salary Range:

  • $75,000 to $95,000
