Senior Data Modeler

Optomi, in partnership with a flagship manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to join their team in Cleveland, Ohio This role is pivotal in driving the company’s Digital Transformation by leveraging enterprise data assets to support a data-driven culture. The Senior Data Modeler will collaborate with architects and analysts to create and maintain data artifacts, ensuring data quality and consistency across the organization. Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Data and Insights and Enterprise Architects to define data strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Understand end-to-end solutions and recommend data management strategies to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure data designs meet business requirements, resolve data quality and consistency issues, and support business processes.
  • Analyze new applications for data requirements and ensure integrations meet functional and compliance standards.
  • Participate in discussions among data stewards, architects, and developers to align business, data, and IT needs.
  • Maintain repositories for data models, including entities, relationships, attributes, information flows, and business glossary.
  • Follow data modeling processes, including prioritization, validation, and publication of modeling artifacts.
  • Define and measure key indicators to ensure data models consistently deliver value.
  • Manage multiple projects, assignments, and priorities simultaneously, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.


Experience of the Right Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent experience (or 12+ years in IT or Business).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or business analysis with demonstrated acumen in manufacturing, sales, or financial verticals.
  • Experience with data governance, data management, and establishing data standards and processes.
  • Proven ability to understand complex business relationships and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with experience mentoring others in data modeling and data mapping.
  • Exposure to API design, relational, dimensional, or semantic data modeling practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present and train others.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and systems/process orientation.
  • Ability to manage change, develop collaborative solutions, and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative to learn new technologies quickly and facilitate meetings with actionable outcomes.
