ISO Specialist
Reports to: QA Manager
SUMMARY
Tarter Farm and Ranch is currently seeking an ISO Specialist to join our team in Liberty, Kentucky. The ISO Specialist reports to the QA Manager and is responsible for supporting the overall ISO quality management system (QMS), ensuring its maintenance and application. This role ensures continuous quality and performance of production while upholding the integrity of quality assurance, in alignment with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participate and manage ISO 9001:2015 activities, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
- Manage and support the QMS system within the scope of ISO requirements
- Support the QA Manager to ensure products are inspected and any quality issues are addressed in a timely and thorough manner.
- Utilize a continuous improvement philosophy to enhance the quality and efficiency of processes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action activities as necessary.
- Attend or conduct QC meetings as necessary with management to discuss internal/external quality issues.
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
- Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan development with the engineering and QA departments.
- Verify work instructions for manufacturing products and ensure compliance.
- Actively engage with the New Product Initiative (NPI) team.
- Communicate with the Tarter engineering group to ensure proper manufacturing of products.
- Coordinate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities (Gage R&R, Cpk studies, etc.) as necessary.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test equipment to verify changes.
- Support 5S processes throughout the plant.
- Monitor customer warranty claims for corrective and preventive action activities
- Perform root cause analysis activities in response to customer and internal quality concerns.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business-related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in an engineering/QA role at a manufacturing facility.
- Experience in an ISO environment required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Able to read and interpret prints to ensure products meet written specifications.
- Product measurement experience using calipers, mics, protractors, height gauges, tape measures, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions include an office environment and the manufacturing floor. Minimal travel is required.
