We are a twenty person civil engineering, construction management, land surveying and urban planning firm. The firm has been in existence for over 35 years and has an excellent reputation in the industry. We perform professional services for municipalities, school boards, private developers, universities and counties.


The firm was founded some time ago and our founders are seeking some form of retirement in the next 5-7 years. So with that said, this is not your run of the mill job posting. We are seeking the next faces of the firm.


Just some facts of what the the firm has done for its employees.

  1. During COVID we paid all employees 100% of their salary, even though they stayed at home with limited work. They received full pay.
  2. We have paid family leave over and above the State requirements for our staff.
  3. We have assisted staff with housing, auto purchases, death benefits and have forgiven many of these loans.
  4. We fund our HSA account so employees have, eye glass, dental, prescription drugs etc. covered by our HSA credit card.
  5. The firm has a profit sharing bonus plan.
  6. 401-K maximum allowable match.
  7. Automobile allowance.
  8. We pay for all career advancement classes.


The Candidate, must have the following:

  • A professional engineering license in the State of New Jersey.
  • Excellent design skills in site plans, utility design, project management.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to attend night meetings.
  • The ability to present site plans and engineering studies to planning & zoning boards.
  • The ability to design stormwater systems and perform detention basin designs based on the latest New Jersey rules and regulations.
  • The desire to be an employee with a long term career, not just a number in a large firm, and to be an individual with unlimited capabilities.


In the last ten years in the State of New Jersey many of my competitors have sold their firms. There is a long list of good employees which have been reduced in standing by their new employers. This will not be the case at Harbor Consultants, so we are searching for a person seeking a career.
