Mainframe Programmer

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and IndiaWe are seeking an experienced Mainframe Programmer (COBOL) to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise mainframe applications. This role works closely with business analysts, QA teams, and system administrators to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient mainframe solutions for critical business operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and maintain COBOL-based mainframe applications. Analyze, debug, and optimize legacy and new code to improve performance and stability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.Perform data analysis, file handling, and batch processing using JCL and VSAM.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.Prepare and maintain documentation including system designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures.Qualifications3+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development with a strong focus on COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.Experience with DB2, CICS, and batch processing is preferred.Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.BenefitsMedical coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) through AnthemDental/Vision/Various Ancillary coverages through Unum401(k) retirement savings planPaid-time-off optionsCompany-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Discount programs through ADP WorkforceNowAdditional DetailsThe base range for this contract position is $65 - $75 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
