Description

Girls Inc. of New York City (GINYC) is seeking a temporary Director of Development to support the Development team’s fundraising efforts during staff leave of absence. This individual will possess the Director level knowledge and skillset that will enable them to contribute on day one.


Key Deliverables:

- Work closely with CDO, CEO and key stakeholders in the management of corporate and foundation giving, while supporting individual giving and special events when needed.

- Manage Development operations for GINYC’s donor portfolio with support from the Development Operations Manager, including grants management and reporting, timely and precise implementation of acknowledgment letters, database upkeep, and other activities in coordination with the development team.

- Work with the CDO, CEO, Finance and Programs teams and other stakeholders to submit proposals to grow foundation grants and new foundation leads

- Serve as the primary contact for the external grant consultants, managing grant writing, proposal submissions and reporting and other activities

- Manage GINYC’s corporate volunteer base, with the support of the Development Operations Manager, and working closely with the Programs team and key stakeholders, to plan and execute corporate volunteer events to cultivate enthusiastic supporters and donors

- Support the CDO in planning and executing signature GINYC events that cultivate and steward new and existing donors, including the annual Gala and smaller scale events.

- Support the planning and execution of Growth campaign efforts (in progress)

- Attend Junior Board meetings and liaise with the Junior Board to successfully fundraise for GINYC


Key Qualifications:

- Minimum 6-7 years of experience in fundraising/development. Experience with youth development a plus.

- Excellent communications, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

- Proven ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individual and institutional donors at five and six-figure levels.

- Proficiency in navigating digital fundraising platforms and donor management software, Virtuous/Classy a plus.

- Experience with managing and executing successful special events, including large scale galas.

- Working knowledge of modern data management practices and technological innovations that can streamline fundraising processes and contribute to the integration of related functions.

- Self-starter mentality, strong management skills, and capability to self-learn.

- Strong critical thinker and problem-solver.

- Collaborative spirit


Temporary Salary: $45-$50 per hour
