Set Solutions, a Trace3 Company is working exclusively with a client looking for a Network Architect in Irvine. This role is hybrid with three days a week remote.


*Please note that this role is not internal with Trace3 but is dedicated to one of our awesome end clients.


Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures, with a particular focus on data centers and Palo Alto Networks technologies. The Network Architect will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our network systems, supporting business operations, and leading initiatives to optimize our network infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:


Network Design and Architecture:

  • Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures for data centers, including LAN, WAN, and cloud integration.
  • Create detailed network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for new and existing network environments.
  • Develop and enforce network policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure best practices and compliance.


Implementation and Deployment:

  • Lead the deployment of network solutions, including hardware and software installations, configurations, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network systems with other IT infrastructure components.
  • Ensure seamless network connectivity and performance for all data center operations.


Network Security:

  • Design and implement robust network security solutions using Palo Alto Networks technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of network failures and implement corrective actions.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Prepare and present network performance and security reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in network technologies.


Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on data centers.
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies, including firewalls and security solutions.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization.
  • Expertise in network security principles and practices, including threat prevention and mitigation.


Certifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are highly desirable.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
