The Firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with construction and related personal injury experience in our Houston office. The ideal candidate will support litigation attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period, through trial and post-trial findings. This position requires extensive knowledge of litigation, trial and arbitration, federal and state court rules, and procedures. The position will handle multiple projects requiring prioritization and flexibility.


Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities


  • Assist with discovery requests and productions, including Bates labeling documents, organizing the productions and applications, and creating a document production log.
  • Document and database maintenance, including managing and overseeing electronic data document collections from internal and external clients; searching collected data; recommending and refining searches when appropriate; analyzing data as required using computer-assisted review technologies; communicating with data custodians and requesters as necessary; collaborating with external vendors and/or internal IT groups.
  • The review and preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist with drafting, proofing, editing, and filing court filings (state and federal) using e-file systems.
  • Assist with preparing and/or gathering exhibits for hearings, depositions, trial, etc.
  • Monitor and manage case filings and deadlines.
  • Prepare for and attend trial/arbitration hearings.
  • Organize and maintain case files.
  • Maintain billable time entries.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Basic knowledge of medical records.



Litigation Paralegal Qualifications


  • An associate degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of both plaintiff and defense litigation processes and procedures.
  • Proven experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PACER, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, Teams, and essential office equipment. Must be able to learn new skills and systems quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong editing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Great team player. Enthusiastic with the ability to work with many personalities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with bankruptcy and federal court proceedings is a plus.
  • Notary public desired.


Job Type: Full-Time Location/In Person: In the office

Salary commensurate with experience

Shift: 8 hours a day, Monday – Friday (Some Overtime)
