As an Electrical Foreman specializing in civil work, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical installations and systems associated with civil engineering projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in electrical systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams and subcontractors.


Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Installation and Maintenance:

  • Supervise and lead electrical crews in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and control systems, in civil engineering projects.
  • Ensure that electrical installations are completed according to project plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems to identify and address potential issues and ensure optimal performance.

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to electrical crew members, set priorities, and provide guidance and direction to ensure the timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Train and mentor electrical apprentices and junior staff, promoting skill development and adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence among electrical crew members, promoting collaboration, communication, and accountability.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate electrical work with other construction activities and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall project plans.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials, equipment, and services necessary for electrical installations and ensure timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with project teams and stakeholders to provide updates on electrical progress, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely and proactive manner.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Conduct quality inspections and audits of electrical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Document and report any deviations from plans or specifications, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with established safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Proven experience (4 years) as an electrical foreman or supervisor, with a focus on civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and materials relevant to civil construction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
