About the Role:

As a Transportation Manager, you will oversee daily operations within the transportation department, ensuring effective communication with customers, efficient routing and dispatching, and adherence to DOT regulations. Initially, you will serve as a chauffeur for the first 1-2 months, during which time you will receive comprehensive training on sales and dispatch responsibilities. Your role will require flexibility to fill various operational gaps on an as-needed basis. 

This role demands a versatile approach, as you will flex between driving, sales, fleet and dispatch duties. You will be directly involved in hiring and onboarding chauffeurs and mechanics, managing vehicle compliance, and ensuring driver safety. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering team growth and meeting company revenue and customer service objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a chauffeur while receiving training in sales and dispatch operations.
  • Communicate with new and existing customers and affiliates to ensure satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of our fleet.
  • Hire, train, and develop drivers.
  • Coordinate with in-house mechanics and external shops on fleet maintenance.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement transportation-related procedures.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with drivers, customers, affiliates, and other team members.
  • Manage vehicle and driver compliance, ensuring all operations adhere to DOT regulations.
  • Work with fleet detailing team to ensure vehicles are stocked, and always prepared for trips.


Requirements:

  • Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in logistics or hospitality is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under high pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with dispatch software.
  • Experience with fleet management.
  • Committed to compliance with all transportation policies and regulations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Flexible with work hours, willing to work 40 hours or more per week as needed and be on-call.
  • CDL required
