Assistant Band Director

The Assistant Band Director position at Centerville High School is a full-time teaching contract, with the possibility of many additional supplemental responsibilities. The applicant must be experienced in all curricular areas of music education (concert band, music theory, jazz improvisation, etc.), as well as be willing to take on a multitude of extra-curricular activities (jazz ensemble, marching band, pep band, pit orchestra, etc.). The primary assignment for this position is at the high school level, however there are opportunities to assist at the middle school level as well. The job titles for this position may include:
- Wind Symphony Assistant Director
- Symphonic Band Director
- Concert Band Assistant Director
- Marching Band Assistant Director
- Jazz Ensemble Director
- Pep Band Co-Director
- Pit Orchestra Co-Director
Applicants should be competent in all areas of band pedagogy (woodwind, brass, percussion), and have a basic understanding of all instruments. While a woodwind specialist is preferred, teaching style, ability, and experience are the priority.
