Overview:


Florida Engineering is seeking the right person to join our team in Project Management. We are a busy, steadily growing engineering firm located in Port Charlotte, FL supporting thousands of clients across 14 states actively. Currently we need an organized, customer-focused professional to assist in completing the various tasks required to operate and develop a customer-friendly business within our growing structural/metal building division.


This Project Manager would be directing/supporting our Metal Building division managing a portfolio of 20-40 residential/small scale commercial jobs at a time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communication with Customers regarding the project from introduction to signed plans.
  • Reviewing files to be sure we have all the information to complete the project.
  • Assigning engineers the project based on type of project and schedules.
  • Maintain and track project schedules.
  • Act as the liaison between Customer and Engineer.


We are seeking an individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and a client relation focus. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and advance in an outstanding, team focused environment.


Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 2-5 years of project management experience specifically in the metal buildings industry
  • Familiarity with the design of: (Metal Buildings, Carports, Garages, Barns, Workshops, Storage, Sheds, Etc…)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction would be a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with managing both commercial and residential construction project needs
  • Ability to read/understand CAD files would be a plus.
  • Ability to navigate/update PDF files and use Outlook for communication needs to customers.
  • Ability to use QuickBooks to understand project payment status.
  • Strong communication ability to speak/interface with clients
  • Background of working with metal buildings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak with clients
