Laboratory Director

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of the laboratory.
- Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety.
- Responsible for specimen collection and laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients.
- Responsible for Baptist Health System Laboratory technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, to include instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration.
- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.
- Medical Technologist. 5 years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a primary care facility.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor.
