Machine Learning Scientist (Large Language Models)

Location: Onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA


DeepRec.ai seeks a dedicated Principal level Machine Learning Scientist specializing in Large Language Models (LLMs), to join our client's innovative team in Cambridge, Massachusetts.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Fine-tune, scale, and deploy large language models on scientific experimental data.
  • Develop and implement new prompt engineering strategies.
  • Utilize LLM-backed agents for various applications.
  • Contribute to a digital platform for continuous model finetuning.
  • Stay informed on the latest ML research through literature reviews, conferences, publications, and networking.
  • Collaborate with the experimental team on material discovery and development.
  • Report findings to stakeholders and leadership.


Qualifications:


  • Proficient in coding with large language models (e.g., GPT or other autoregressive LLMs).
  • Strong background in prompt engineering.
  • Experience in deploying and fine-tuning deep learning models at scale.
  • Proficient in machine learning strategies like lifelong learning and incremental learning.
  • Skilled in ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow/Jax) and the Python data science ecosystem.
  • Experience with cloud computing services.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on ML.
  • Independent thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated industry experience or notable academic achievement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience using AWS services.
  • Experience integrating ML in experimental workflows.
