Summary:
The Plant Controller manages plant financial integrity and reporting, analyzes variances, and recommends actions. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, inventory accounting, and improving plant performance. Ensures compliance with IFRS, SOX, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily/monthly financial statements and metrics, reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Oversee timely plant month-end financial closes and analyze production variances.
- Approve capital requests, monitor CIP spending, and manage project closures and equipment inventories.
- Manage inventory accounting and standard cost development.
- Lead bi-annual financial planning and inventory reviews.
- Support cross-functional teams in performance improvement and financial decision-making.
- Conduct financial audits and SOX activities, and partner with internal and external auditors.
- Perform additional financial analysis and support projects across facilities as needed.
- Supervise one accounting professional.
- Report to Corporate Accounting with significant input from the plant manager.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or related field; 10 years in finance/accounting, including 5 years in a Controller/Manager role.
- CPA/CMA preferred.
- Strong ethics, attention to detail, communication, and Excel skills required.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and standard costing in manufacturing.
