A New York City-based health services organization is looking to add a new Infection Preventionist to their growing EPIC-Training Department.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

The Infection Preventionist will:

  • Be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of healthcare-associated infections on site
  • Surveillance activity includes infection outcome and process measures for both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collect and analyze data, investigate outbreaks, observe practices, participate in patient rounds, perform education, and design and lead interventions to improve infection control.
  • Conduct environment of care rounds and other site visits as needed
  • Address infection control issues within the medical center as well as those in the community that impacts patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Help to set infection control policies and serves as a resource to administrators, physicians, staff, and the community regarding infection control practices.
  • Have scheduled and as needed on call responsibilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or other related health field
  • 3-4 years' work experience in an Infection Control setting
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized


Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health/Industrial Hygiene preferred
  • Experience working in an ambulatory care setting is a plus
  • RN Background is a plus
