Senior/Financial Analyst

Overview: 


This role is for a Senior Financial Analyst or Financial Analyst, depending on experience. The Senior/Financial Analyst's primary responsibility will be to assist with various financial analytical aspects of the quarterly and annual underwriting review processes for new and existing client accounts in KEWA’s surety portfolio. The Senior/Financial Analyst may also assist with internal financial modeling initiatives and perform quarterly analyses on various risk management metrics.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze quarterly financial reports submitted by various KEWA surety program accounts
  • Evaluate and monitor new and existing customer accounts against surety underwriting metrics
  • Create and maintain reporting dashboards to monitor financial trends for surety accounts
  • Assist with maintaining and enhancing internal financial models
  • Support enterprise risk management initiatives by assisting with measuring various financial and risk metrics established by the KEWA audit committee   
  • Assist with analyses and preparation of materials for board of directors meeting, rating agency reviews, and reinsurance renewals
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis for various other projects


Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field
  • 2+ years of finance or accounting experience (4+ years to be considered for Senior Financial Analyst role)
  • Broad understanding of general finance principles
  • Familiarity with reviewing and analyzing financial statements
  • Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Credit analysis experience (preferred but not required)
  • Property and casualty insurance industry experience (preferred but not required)
