Profitable, successful manufacturer is adding a 1st shift Quality Supervisor to lead quality and oversee a lab team in a specialized manufacturing environment. As the Quality Supervisor, you will report to a manager with over twenty years of experience with the company. You will be responsible for the following daily tasks:

• Oversee all Quality Control activities: This includes managing the QC lab, equipment and personnel, as well as developing and implementing quality standards and procedures.
• Ensure product quality: Monitor vendor quality, collaborate with engineering on inspection standards, and communicate with sales and customers on quality issues.
• Manage QC team: Hire, train and schedule QC Technicians and provide guidance on inspection methods.
• Maintain QC equipment and software: Schedule calibration and service, manage GagePro software, and ensure all gages are calibrated and maintained.
• Collaborate with other departments: Communicate with production managers on inspection priorities, work with sales on returned products, and collaborate with engineering on new product standards.
• Handle special projects: As assigned by management.

This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 20% of their day and willing to fill in, as needed, in the quality lab. The primary goal of this position will be to work closely with operations to improve quality standards and support production. Candidates should enjoy mentoring and coaching others, problem-solving, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enjoy building rapport on the floor and working within a team of manufacturing professionals. 1st Shift Hours:

Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4 p.m. with the ability to cover three shifts as needed

Saturday hours of production are 5 a.m.-12 p.m. (ONLY work one Saturday per quarter)

REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Supervisor:

1. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

2. At least three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment in a quality or operations position

3. Experience overseeing others

4. General knowledge of control plans

5. Basic mechanical aptitude

6. Microsoft Office experience, including basic Word and Excel skills

Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Job shop experience

2. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives

3. Non-union workforce supervision

4. Quality lab experience
